Let’s face it, learning to drive might not excite you as much as other things in life. The buzz of the first few lessons have passed and you’re over it. Some people might say that young people are falling out of love with driving, but we’re here to change this. Learning to drive doesn’t have to be a chore! We have previously highlighted the importance of private practice when learning to drive – but it doesn’t have to be as boring as it sounds! You can use the opportunity to make it a little more interesting than just practising your driving. Here’s some ways you could add a bit of fun into learning to drive – and simultaneously get more driving experience.

Drive Somewhere New

Bored of doing the same old route around your local town? Take a chance and explore somewhere new. Maybe there’s a shop you want to pick something up from or maybe a new selfie spot for your Instagram page! Additionally, driving in new areas will also help with your driving experience overall – making you more confident on roads you don’t know.

Drive with a Friend

via GIPHY When we think about practising our driving as a learner driver, we usually think about having mum or dad in the passenger seat. But remember, learner driver insurance is not just for practising with a parent – a friend is just as suitable (as long as the fit our required acceptance criteria). This way, you could avoid a few arguments with mum or dad, and they can give you some different pointers that you might not have heard before!

Satisfy Those Hunger Cravings

If you have learner insurance, you have nothing standing between you and the cheeky drive through anymore. Grab your accompanying driver and take them for a bite to eat if you’re feeling peckish (their treat, of course). Driving around the car park is also good practice and you can even do a few more manoeuvres in the car park afterwards! Sounds like a good excuse to get that cheeseburger you’ve been craving.

Drive Different Cars

Think you’ve mastered the car you’ve been learning to drive in? If you’ve got a willing family member with a bigger or smaller car, why not switch it up a bit by getting in the driving seat of a different car?  With InsureLearnerDriver, you can get a policy that’s valid for just a day – meaning you can get to grips with many different types of cars! This may even help prepare you for life after the driving test.
