Learner Drivers of the UK Prepare for Driving Test Changes
Learner drivers all over the UK are making sure they are prepared for the upcoming changes to the driving test on the 4th of December.
The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) says ensures that the changes will help make sure drivers have the skills, knowledge and confidence to drive safely on the roads after their driving test.
What’s Changing in the UK Driving Test?
See our InsureLearnerDriver info graphic below to make sure you’re aware of all of the upcoming driving test changes:
The DVSA have confirmed that the eyesight test, controlled stops, emergency stops and the pass mark (no more than 15 minor faults with no major faults) will remain the same. The test will last around 40 minutes in total. For more information, visit the official DVSA website.
These changes aim to prepare learner drivers for a “lifetime of safe driving” said DVSA chief executive Gareth Llewellyn.
These changes are intended to resemble real life scenarios, in hopes that new drivers will become safer on Britain’s roads, thus reducing the current high number of road accidents involving young drivers.
In order to be comfortable with these changes, carrying out private practice beforehand can be hugely beneficial.
