We’ve already entered into the Spring of 2015 and from this point forward, let’s face it – everything becomes a little brighter.

This Sunday 29th March 2015 at 1.00am we will convert to BST (British Summer Time), the clocks will go forward by 1 hour and longer hours of daylight will warmly welcome the coming days and months.

So, what does this mean for learner drivers?

Learning to drive in the dark can often leave many feeling a little fearful and anxious. It’s okay – even some of the most experienced drivers can feel a little anxious too.

With the warmth of spring leading to summer we can expect to experience longer hours of daylight. Whether you’re busy all day at work, college or just have a tightly packed schedule, with the evenings seeming longer, knowing you’ll be driving in the light at night, puts your mind at ease. You may also find it hard to find time throughout the day whereby your accompanying driver is also available to take the drive with you; this shouldn’t be a problem when it comes to driving in the evenings.

Learner drivers can often be put off practising for their all important driving test in the evenings throughout the winter months when the nights draw in at around 4pm and now that spring is here, there really is no need to further delay practising, getting that test passed and getting on the road!

Before you know it the summer will be here and everyone wants to be driving in time for the summer. With the additional hours of practise every night, you could pass your test just in the nick of time!

So, learner drivers, maybe you can benefit from the season of spring a little more than what you initially thought?
