Only 15 sleeps until Christmas day so it is certainly time to be finalising that Christmas list. Here are our pick of gifts to help you pass your driving test in 2015.

Spice Up The Highway Code

The man who was once The Stig isn’t happy with the state of driving in Britain today, and he’s on a mission to do something about it.

He says this is partly because manuals are boring, the Highway Code is dry stuff, and few people have any interest in learning new skills once they have passed their test. Collins answer is to publish his own book, How to Drive, which mixes information on driving with funny and entertaining experiences from his career.

This is the stuff your instructor missed, your dad forgot and your mates pretend to know…but don’t. Worth a read learner drivers!

Avoid Mishaps

A common mishap that learners do and don’t realise can be driving in the wrong shoes. Having a thin sole shoe can do wonders for helping you with clutch control and feeling your way around the pedals. So what better excuse to ask for some new shoes than for your driving practice! And of course you can wear them when you’re not driving too!

Driving Lessons!

You can now get vouchers via ‘midrive’ app with a local instructor and pay via card – so why not ask for some top-notch tuition to really get things going in the new year! After that ask for a weeks learner driver insurance in somebody else’s car so you can get some intense practice in before your driving test.

Need an Excuse for a Tablet?

There are tons of learning to drive tools, blogs and resources online and a tablet is a quick and effortless way to access these when you get a spare few minutes. Revise for your theory test, try out some virtual parking and just sit back and really think about how you can improve whatever you may be struggling with.

Plan Ahead

Your new car is bound to come soon, right? Even though you may not know when, where or how it is always good to have a light at the end of the tunnel, and thinking about what you can do after your driving test will motivate you to pass quicker! Ask for that car stereo system you have had your eye on for a while.

Road trips are one of the best things about passing your driving test and even if you are taking the ‘just drive’ approach, you still need to find your way home – eventually. Recent government talks have also revealed the possibility of a Sat-Nav section in the driving test, so you may just need one for the practice too!
