Great news learner drivers! The government have announced that provisional driving licence fees will be cut from October 31st. A current provisional driving licence will cost you £50. That will soon be lowered to £34, saving drivers a total of £82 million in the next 10 years.
Transport Minister Claire Perry said: “The cost of driving, especially for young drivers, can be significant and we are committed to cutting costs where we can.”
Seeing as 17-24 year olds make 77% of first driving licence applications, this shift is great news for young learner drivers trying to get on the road with limited funds.
